Great clock. I use it at night, and in the morning.

Pros:Great at relaxing and waking me up. Choice of scents is good.
Cons:Very loud buzzer. Some scents can't be used for both sleep and wake modes.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend getting the Progression Wake Up Clock. The pros seem to make up for the cons.

I originally looked into the Progression Wake Up Clock because I hate hearing the blaring noise of regular alarm clocks in the morning. The idea behind the Progression Wake Up Clock. It gently wakes you using scent, light, and soothing sounds. I ordered it from Hammacher Schlemmer for $49.95. It seems expensive for a clock, but it is well worth it.

It comes with four different scents, Energy (orange), Morning Cafe (coffee), Stress Relief, and Lavender. It also plays 6 sounds, Nightfall, Thunder Storm, Zen Melody, Mountain Stream, Ocean Surf, and Songbirds. The first night I put in the Stress Relief, set it to Nightfall and used it in sleep mode. When I first turned it on, the light was on in full intensity and it was playing a sound that seemed nature like with crickets chirping in the background. It didn't take long for me to smell the Stress Relief. It actually does seem to relieve my stress. Over 30 minutes it got darker and darker. About half way through, when I was getting relaxed, the sound shut off. It kind of startled me, but now I'm used to it doing that.

The next night I used it again, only this time I also set it to wake me up using Zen Melody. It's oriental sounding and has chimes in the background. At 5:45, 15 minutes into the wake up cycle, it gently woke me when the Zen Melody started playing. Over the next 15 minutes, it got brighter and brighter. I also smelled the Stress Relief scent. Then, at the end of 30 minutes it shook me with a loud buzzer. This was the only bad part of the wake up cycle.

One thing that I don't like is that some of the scents such as Energy and Morning Cafe, you wouldn't want to use at night. Also, the buzzer is very loud compared to the volume of the sounds. Thus, if I lower the volume so that the buzzer is bearable, I can't hear the sounds. Also, the sounds are 15 or 30 second loops that repeat over and over again.

Overall however, it is a great clock, and I got my money's worth. I haven't had any of the problems that other reviewers complain about, such as too strong of scents, plastic smell, bright digits, etc.
