Pros:Battery powered cleaning brush, comes with a pre-treat bottle.
Cons:None so far
The Bottom Line: Make your stain cleaning jobs a lot easier and quicker, by using this Tide Stainbrush.

Well this is my 300th review. I just want to thank everyone who has read and rated my reviews, and I hope to be able to write many more in the near future here in Epinions. Now on to my Review.

The first time I saw this Tide Stainbrush, was at my daughters house, when she was using it to remove grass stains from my grand son's khaki pants. She told me that the stain brush worked great, and really got down into the stains, which made the stain so much easier to remove. After watching her remove the stain so easily I was hooked. That next day I went off to the market and purchased the Tide Stainbrush for $5.99.

WHAT THE TIDE STAINBRUSH LOOKS LIKE:

The Tide Stainbrush handle is slightly curved and is 7˝ long. It has a battery powered round one inch oscillating brush at one end. The stainbrush is powered by 2 replaceable AA batteries, which already comes in the stainbrush. At the end of the handle there is cap that can be removed to replace 2 new AA batteries when needed.

On top of the handle of the stainbrush is a switch button. You press the button down for easy on and off control. If you push the button forward it will keep the brush constantly rotating . The brush rotates in a back and forth motion which helps to remove stains easily and quickly. The brush has soft fabric safe bristles which can be used on many every day fabrics.

On the underside of the Tide Stainbrush handle, there is a red rubberized strip that makes the stainbrush easy to hold onto while your using the brush.

Along with the stainbrush there is a 5oz. container of Liquid Tide for pre-treating the stains. It has a lift up spout for easy pouring, and it can be refilled as needed. There also is a 50 cent c/o that comes with the Tide Stainbrush which can be used on any size Tide, and expires in 3/31/05.

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE USING THE TIDE STAINBRUSH:
The first time I used the Tide Stainbrush, was on several aprons, dish towels and dish cloths that were stained badly. These all came from the Fish and Game Club that my husband belongs to. A while ago the club had a Cowboy Shoot that lasted the entire week-end. Several people will come from all over in their campers and Rv's and park in the back of the Club for the entire weekend. My husband along with several other fellas work in the kitchen preparing the foods for each day. At the end of the day on Friday, my husband brought home 7 aprons and several dish towels to be washed. I had to wash them that night so he could take them back on Saturday to be used again.

These aprons had barbecue sauce and grease stains on them. Two of the dish towels had real bad grease stains on them. It looked like someone had wiped the floor with them. My husband said that one of the guys had wiped down the 2 large stoves with the dish towels, instead of using a dish cloth. I've always washed these aprons and towels, after the Club has had there dinners and and special events, but I've never seen them quite this dirty before.

I knew then that I had my work cut out for me. So out came the Tide Stainbrush. I took the Tide pre-treat bottle that came with the Stainbrush, and poured the Liquid Tide directly onto the stain. Then I pressed the switch forward so it would lock in for a continuous brush action which rotated the brush back and forth. I then kept moving the brush around the stain area. The Barbecue sauce on the apron came off pretty quick, but the grease did take a little longer to remove. I had to apply more Liquid Tide a few more times, which finally did remove all of the grease stains. It even removed the grime from the 2 towels that were used to wipe off the 2 stoves. After I had removed all the stains form the aprons and towels, I threw them all in the washer to be washed. They all came out really nice and clean. I had to do the same cleaning for the same aprons on Saturday and then Sunday as well. I do have to say that the guy's didn't use the dish towels to clean the stove any more either. My husband did tell them that I was a little upset that they did use the dish towels to wipe down the stoves with.

If your cleaning any kind of delicate fabrics like silk or fine wool fabrics, it's best to test for colorfastness on a inside seam, and follow the garments care labels. A good rule of thumb also is never to place a garment in the dryer until your sure the stain has been completely removed, otherwise this will set the stain. And of course the sooner you treat a stain, the easier it will be to remove the stain.

I have a small cotton throw rug in front of my kitchen sink, which I have to wash every couple of weeks. Sometimes it gets badly stained with every day foods. I have used Spray 'N Wash to remove some stains from the rug. But now it will be easier to brush the stains away with my Tide Stainbrush.

The small 5 ounce size liquid Tide bottle that comes with the Stainbrush is very handy to have. When it's empty you can just refill it with more Liquid Tide. This will eliminate any mess from having to pour from the larger Tide bottle onto the stain. I keep my Stainbrush and the small bottle on a shelve above my washer. It doesn't take up a lot of space and it's always right there handy to use when I need it to remove a stain before washing any garments.

WHY I PREFER THE TIDE STAINBRUSH OVER OTHER STAIN CLEANERS:

When I used Spray 'N Wash to remove stains it always worked great. But after applying the cleaner to the stain you had to rub the stained fabric between you hands in order to remove the stain. I was always left with a certain amount of the cleaner on my hands. With the Tide Stainbrush the Liquid Tide does not come in touch with your hands at all. The oscillating brush also removes stains a lot quicker, and I don't have to worry about getting any of the Tide Liquid solution all over my hands.

If your going to remove a clothing stain from a garment it's a good idea to place several paper towels on the inside of the garment under the stain that needs to be removed. This way the stain will not go through to the rest of the garment.

I know when Thanksgiving and Christmas comes around my Tide Stainbrush will come in handy to use on my Christmas tablecloth to remove many stains from special dishes that I will be preparing for the Holidays, especially those gravy stains that we manage to get on the tablecloth after eating our Holiday meals.

CLEANING THE TIDE STAINBRUSH:
After each use of cleaning with the stainbrush, it's always necessary to rinse off just the brush head under water to remove any stain residue that might be left on the brush. Only the brush can be rinsed out in water. The entire Stainbrush should never be immersed in water as this could damage the batteries.

MY FINAL RECOMMENDATION:
I love this Tide Stainbrush. I've found that the revolving brush removes many stains quickly and I found it to be gentle on most fabrics that I have cleaned since I've used the Tide Stainbrush. If you have kids then you know that kids and stains go hand in hand, and a Tide Stainbrush with it's Fabric safe Bristles is a sure bet to remove and get rid of every day stains. I hope you'll give it a try.

Thanks for Reading!!
