Perhaps my experience is unique, but I would watch out for several things before attending the University of Northern Colorado. The most important thing is that this school likes to Overstock its students whether there is room or not. While most schools do overbook for the upcoming semester, UNC seems to appreciate an overabundance of student tuition and fees before addressing the issues of student facilities. My first (and last) semester at UNC involved sharing a ~200 square foot dorm room with 2 other roommates. This is UNACCEPTABLE for any 18 year old away from home for the first time trying to get an education. Many of my peers actually lived in a hotel miles away from campus. My classes were pretty good but I was sold on the small classroom that UNC officials try to tell you, and it was hardly true. I later went to the University of New Mexico (nearly twice the size as UNC and had much smaller classes). When I complained about the dorm situation, advisors basically told me, that's life. Eventually, they moved me into a new dorm room - although larger, I now had 3 other roommates. What happened to the days when you only had to deal with ONE. Also, parking a car on this campus is IMPOSSIBLE and the campus is pretty large. Try crossing campus at 6 am for a chem lab and getting there on time without a car! Or coming home by yourself in the evening and having to walk a ways to get to your dorm.
