Be A Pampered ChefMay 23 '01 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line You don't have to spend a fortune to get quality cookware. My wife recently hosted a Pampered Chef party for a group of her friends. I just shook my head and went out for the evening with our son. I had no idea at the time, just how wonderful Pampered Chef products are. I am a guy, I couldn't care less about kitchen gadgets and cookware. Give me a frozen pizza and some microwave popcorn (well, and a beer, of course) and I am happy. But, guess what? Pampered Chef even makes a cooking stone that I can heat up my frozen pizza on! I am impressed! About two weeks after my wife's party, the products started arriving via UPS. I saw box upon box and panicked thinking my wife had spent a fortune. Then she explained...most of the merchandise was for the people who made purchases at the party...but a good amount of it was hers...and it was FREE!!!! She got over $200 worth of free stuff for hosting this party. So, let me tell you about my personal favorites of all the Pampered Chef cookware..... A) The Food Chopper...you place your veggies or whatnot under the Food Chopper, push the plunger a few times and your food is diced, push it a few more times, minced...like magic! This is great for chopping onions for burgers without my eyes tearing. B) The 15" Round Pizza Stone with rack...this is exactly what it sounds like. It is a flat, round stone, 15" in diameter with a metal rack to carry it. You can bake cookies on it, bake pizza, reheat leftovers...you name it! And it is next to impossible to burn anything on the stone. It is easy to clean (just scrape off the food bits and wash in hot water...no soap). C) The Bread Tubes...these are metal tubes available in different shapes (square, flower, heart or star). You pop open a canister of refrigerated bread dough (Pillsbury, etc...the ones found in the dairy section), and drop it in the bread tube. Cap both ends and bake. You get beautiful canapes when you slice the bread. And it looks like you worked so hard! My wife likes to unroll the dough before cooking and sprinkle it with cinnamon and sugar and then roll it back up and put it in the tube. It comes out with a cinnamon/sugar spiral...very impressive. Men...encourage your wives to have Pampered Chef parties. You get lots of free stuff, your wife ends up with lots of new recipes and ideas. And your boss will be so impressed when you have him over for dinner and he sees what a great cook your wife is! |
