I happen to love Comet with Bleach Disinfectant Cleaner. I purchase it about once a month. I am tossed between this product and another similar type of product. I will normally purchase the one that is on sale. Lately I have been able to find it in the 20% more free 16.8 oz size, so this is what I have been going with.

Price

I can normally find this product on sale for under $2.00. That is a great buy, and a can lasts me about a month. It contains bleach, and will disinfect, so that means I don't have to use an additional product.

Description of Product

Comet with Bleach Disinfectant Cleanser comes in a metallic looking cardboard can that is green and accented in yellow and red. The top of the can has holes in it and is easy to shake on. This product does not have a lid, and has a scad of warnings on the can. Please be sure to read ALL of the warnings before using this product as it is Hazardous to humans and animals. Do not mix this product with other chemicals.

The can states that "This product does not contain any Phosphates, and the surfactants in this product are biodegradable."

The scent is very mild, and not overpowering.

This product is a powder, and will be activated when you add this product on top of your wet surface.

Directions

In a nut shell, you basically just sprinkle it on your wet surface, let it sit for a few seconds, rub, and then rinse well. If you want to disinfect let the product stand for about five minutes before you rinse. Let product sit for ten minutes if you are cleaning your toilets. This product is known for killing all sorts of bacteria including Salmonella and Staph.

What Have I used it on?

I have used it in my stainless steel sinks. It will produce a beautiful shine. I also use it on my faucets. This will give your faucets a shine so shiny that you can see yourself.

I have used it to clean my stove (porcelain top). It does a great job at getting rid of the grease and the grime, but it is a pain to get this product rinsed off, especially if I shake to much of this product on. I normally use a green plastic scour, and have not had any problems with scratching.

My favorite place to use this product is in the (fiberglass) tub. I have lots of access to water, so rinsing this product off the tubs is very easy. My bathrooms are white, so I need the power of this cleaner to really whiten and brighten. It does everything I am looking for, at an economical price, with disinfecting powers that I expect out of one single product.

What I don't like about this product

You can not leave this product in this type of can on your kitchen counters like I do with items like my dish soap. You don't want to take a chance with it spilling in your food, or on the counters. Also, If you should happen to get your counters damp with this product next to it, the bottom of the can will start to rust and leave a nice little rust ring on your white counter tops.

You really have to rinse this product off well, or you will receive a dull finish with Comet buildup. This product is worth taking the extra time to rinse. I have not seen another type of product that has worked better. I loved these powder type of cleaners.


I also use this product to scrub out my plastic waste paper cans in the bathroom. I always use gloves when I use this product as I have skin allergies. I recommend using rubber gloves with this and any other type of harsh chemical products.


Overall

This product is not an easy spray and wipe type deal. You have to actually rub the product in and thoroughly with a sponge, cloth, or scour, and then rinse it off extremely well. I am so pleased with the cleaning power, I have to keep coming back for more. I highly recommend this product in spite of the ease of use factor, which really isn't that bad. I have found other types of powders comparable to this one. Price is the key factor in my purchasing this product.
