Up until about 3 1/2 years ago, I've always had carpet in my house so my upright Hoover Steam Vac Ultra was my best friend. Only once we moved into our new home in the spring of 2001, my cleaning needs changed as only our bedrooms are carpeted while the rest of the house including a long hallway, a large living room, and a medium sized dining room all contained hard wood floors. I had no idea what to clean them with so it's been trial and error over the years until I found this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish in the cleaning supply aisle of my local Wal-Mart. For until recently, it came packaged in the green plastic bottle as pictured above, but it's recently received a face lift and is not taller yet slimmer in size and orange instead of green in color. ~~~The Wood Floor Cleanser~~~
Because there's no need to use a separate product for cleaning, this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish tackles not two but three tasks at once. According to product advertising, this household cleanser cleans, polishes, and protects while it beautifies & preserves hardwood floors. In one easy step, it gently cleans dirt and grime while leaving behind a clear, non-slip shine. Best of all, it will give your wood a brilliant luster. The cleanser itself is white in color when first applied to the floor but it dries to a clear shine in just a few minutes. The scent is fresh and pleasant without containing that overpowering chemical smell that some floor polishers reek of. And all you need is a regular mop to apply this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polisher as little scrubbing is needed unless your floor is just super dirty and in need of a deep down cleansing first. I rarely need to do this, however, when using this product as it cuts right through sticky footprints, spilled liquids, and dried on foods in a snap without leaving a dull residue behind.

Pick up a 24 ounce squeeze bottle of this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish with its new look and improved formula at discount stores like Wal-Mart for around $5.88 each. It sells for $7.99 at the website listed above, so definitely shop around for the best price. I can usually clean my whole hallway, living room, and dining room with one bottle with about 1/4 of it to spare, so the price is worth it to me. For as a working mother, I don't have much spare time for housework, so quick and easy is the way to go! At the top of the orange squeeze bottle is a black flip top lid, which of course comes sealed so the product won't leak or spill if accidentally opened. The bottle also features grippers toward the bottom which allows for easier squeezing, which was not present on the old bottle design. And since orange containing cleansers have become so popular during recent years, I'm sure changing the color of the bottle from green to orange was a deliberate thing as it will no doubt encourage more consumers to buy this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish in the future.
~~~My Experience~~~
Using this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish is easy when following the directions for use found on each bottle: 1. Sweep or vacuum floor. 2. Squire directly onto damp mop head. 3. For best results, use long strokes that follow the grain of the wood. 4. Move to next area and repeat. Rinse mop between applications to remove dirt. Your floor will dry to a beautiful shine in approximately 10-15 minutes. I personally just use a regular mop and squirt this cleanser directly onto my floor after sweeping away the larger dust and dirt particles as it works just as good that way. Since the product is creamy white in color during the application process, it's easy to see what part of the floor has been covered and what part has not in just a glance. I work in 4 foot sections and only rinse my mop when I'm through, yet my floor is still clean and shiny when I'm done mopping. Cleaning my wood floors is definitely not one of my favorite household chores by a long shot, so I'm lucky to get them done every 2 to 3 weeks, especially now since I've been working more these past few months. But I know I can get the job done fast and easy every time I use my Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish as my floors look better longer in between mopping sessions now that I've found this handy household product. Just make sure the floor is completely dry before walking on it as you'll see your foot prints on the floor otherwise!

When you don't have alot of time but still want to keep your hardwood floors clean and looking beautiful and protected against daily scuffing, then I'd highly recommend this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish as it takes much of the brunt work out of cleaning your floors. For I've actually gotten down on my hands and knees with other wood floor cleansers I've tried in the past, which takes twice as long and is murder on the back! But ever since I found this product, my floors rarely look dull and nasty as I'm more likely to use it when I know I can get beautiful results in way less than an hour for all three areas. And with three kids and two cats, my floors definitely take a beating, but you'd never know it once I've applied this Orange Glo Wood Floor Cleaner & Polish.
