How would you like to drive your car with keyboard arrow keys? Or perhaps you would prefer a mouse to navigate the real world with? To get the whole experience of a true racing game you will need to invest into a steering wheel. But before you do, be sure that you are going to use it more than once. Many people purchase a steering wheel with their first racing game only to find that they use it but once and never again because they didn't like the game.
