Lion Pavillion, Great Sichuan!

The Bottom Line Go to Lion Pavillion is you like Sichuan food, which is a bit heavier and spicier than Cantonese.
Lion Pavillion is a relatively new regional Chinese (Sichuan) restaurant in Kew Grdens Quuens. It is at 90-02 Kew Gardens Road, one block from the E/F train (at Union Turnpike.) Phone: (718) 793-2888.
This restaurant is huge and should be considered a banquet hall. In the early evening there seem to be more waiters than diners, but later in the evening the place is packed with both Asians And Americans. Service is good since they have a huge staff (with several Managers) at all times.
I recommend ordering Sichuan specialties, and staying away from the Cantonese items, since it is a Sichuan restaurant. Make sure you tell them if you want the food extra spicy.
The Dan Dan noodles (appetizer) are handmade noodles in chile sauce with minced pork, and are very good. They have the best tangerine beef I have ever tasted, which is crispy & delicious, with just a touch of heat. The wok roasted shrimp w/pepper spiced salt are cooked in their shells, keeping them from drying out and adding flavor. Their Camphur tea smoked duck is good as well, although I haven't tried the shredded version with baby ginger.
I keep meaning to try the crispy whole fish in chile sauce, but haven't yet. Maybe next time.
They had two bullfrog specials last night, although I didn't try them.
Prices range from $8-20 for entrees (large portions.)
I give the restaurant 4 stars.
