| voodoo911's Full Review: Mario is Missing! for Super Nintendo |
Intro
First off i did not buy this game for the huge price of 15$. I downloaded it off the internet so I dont see the difference. But this is one of the few mario games that got over looked like Mario's Timemachine and Mario Paint. This is not your average Mario game. You have to know stuff to beat it!!! This is not for your average gamer or even for some hardcore Mario fans.
Description
Bowser has escaped the Mushroom Kingdom and is now in the real world. To make matters worse, he has kidnapped Mario. You will have to explore exotic cities by navigating the streets with only a map and compass. If you find some friendly people, they may provide you with clues to Bowser's location. When you come across a famous landmark, there are pamphlets to read, plus you can retrieve additional information from a computer database. Be sure to take some snapshots to remember the trip. See if you have enough geography knowledge to rescue Mario in MARIO IS MISSING!
Gameplay
The game play is simple. You go from country to country trying to find Mario and trying to restore monuments. Like each country you go to will have 3 missing monuments. you have to hunt down the Koopas in the country and take the Monument from them and return it. When you try to return it the person standing in front of the monuments place will ask you a question about the monument. If you get it right it will be restored. If you get it wrong the koopa will get it back and you will have to try again. Im not saying this is a bad mario game and its one to be overlooked. After you go through like 30 or so countrys you will find mario. It gets boring after you go to county after country answering questions. If you dont like trivia and love action you will HATE this game. So thats why i didnt like it all too well. WORST OF ALL ITS EDUCATIONAL!!!!!! also AND YOU CANT DIE!!!! Also the questions might be too hard for the age group this game is aimed at. Its like 8th grade questions for 3rd graders. I mean its not too fun going around awnswering HISTORY QUESTIONS!!!
Sound
The music is similar to many of the tunes common to the Mario series, and the style reflects the country you are in. Songs in this game are good, but forgettable, and nothing very special. But very annoying and wil get on your nerves.
Graphics
The graphics are your basic Super Mario World graphics. BUT 1 big difference. You can go in 4 different directions. Which was cool for a SNES game. The cities are actually really cool looking for the SNES graphics. Theres nothing big and standout but just above average.
Replay Value
Absolutely none. Once you know all the awnswers its useless. Anyway why would you want to replay such a terrible game. I mean it gets terribly boring and repetatinve not even half way through. So why would you want to play it again?
