Crappy customer service

My experience with trying to buy and activate a phone has brought back all the old nightmares of dealing with Pacific Bell. I have spent five days trying to get a phone for my CEO and, so far, have nothing that works - just promises. At first I ordered my phone over the phone - it was deliver in time and working except that it wasn't the dual mode phone I had requested. Trying to swap it for that is has been an exercise in frustration. They wouldn't just swap the SIM card into a new phone because, apparently, the "external sales" and the "stores" use a different inventory. Instead they required that I create a NEW account with a NEW number and a waiting period. In my case this may mean some very bad things to my company. In all cases customer service has been unable to help me in any way except to say "sorry, we can't help you".
Oh, and they charge $4/minute when roaming in Europe.
