The video on a Digital8 tape is unbelievable. And the Sony TRV320 is what helps it to be the clearest quality video taking I've ever seen for home use. I took this thing to a State-B Basketball Game, and when I played the tape on my TV I was stunned. I turned on the surround sound and the sound quality made it sound like I was there all over again. The scary part is that five years from now, it will look and sound exactly the way it did just when it was recorded. NOW THATS DIGITAL! The nightshot effect on this camera is very useful at night and extremely fun during the day. Turn the nightshot on during the day will allow you to take green tinted photos that look professional quality. Look below this review for some of those and regular photos taken with my TRV320. Every wire you need for photos comes with the camera, along with software and a 4MB stick for the DVCam that holds about 42 stills at 640x480 resolution. My only complaint about this thing is that when you pull the color screen out to record, your "90 minutes" of battery will suddenly become "55 minutes" of battery. I don't know why but it has made me personally like using the viewfinder better (which is not color). The good thing is that you can buy a 12 hour battery that works with this camera and that will solve your problems. This DVcamera is PC video compatable in every way, but because I don't have a firewire card yet, I am not able to tell you how well that works. Other than that, this camera is worth it. The picture quality is great on the movies, it comes with fun special image effects, the nightvision is cool for digial stills, and the picture taking is more fun than video recording. Especially when you can view video and take stills from it in slow motion :) Below are listed URLs some pictures taken from my school and basketball game using this camera, some with the nightvision turned on. The basketball game pictures were taken from 3rd level up at about 200 feet away. The zoom is AMAZING on this camera!!!! 450x!!!
