Pros: Size, excellent audio clarity, accessory compatibilty with other StarTAC products, good battery performance.
Cons: Antenna can get snagged on clothing.
The Bottom Line: A good, reliable, full featured phone. Motorola's vigorous product testing indeed makes a difference. One of the few that made the grade for use on NBTel's CDMA network.

| seisguy's Full Review: Motorola StarTAC ST7760 CDMA / AMPS Cellular Phone |
Being a "die-hard" Motorola user for the past few years (after using NEC, Nokia, Oki and Mitsubishi while doing Cellular Sales), making the progression from a DPC550 "flip phone" (5yrs ago) to a StarTAC 6000e (3yrs ago) and now to the StarTAC ST7760, seemed like the natural thing to do. As one might guess, I tend to keep my cell phones for a long time, keeping them in excellent condition and tending to look after them (being careful not to abuse the products, unlike some folks). I had to replace the antenna on my 6000e only once, but bought a second antenna at the time just in case. The removal/ install tool for the antenna was so prohibitively expensive here in Canada, I made one, once having had a good look at the tool the dealer used. Should the antenna break... no sweat to replace it now !
Here in New Brunswick, there are only two cellular service providers; NBTel Mobility (a subsiduary of the landline Telco) and Rogers AT&T (formerly known as Cantel, the only truely national wireless carrier in Canada). My wife, who uses Rogers, has the new Panasonic EB-TX210 (known as the "ProMax" in the US) and I found their TDMA digital network to exhibit too much "echo" and "reverb" for my liking when shopping for digital service. I stayed with NBTel Mobility and find that their CDMA network is crystal clear, not to mention covering a much larger service area than Rogers. I had such a good expierience with my 6000e (I know many didn't), moving up to the ST7760 was almost a "no-brainer". I did however, look at the other phones available, read the reviews and decided that ounce for ounce, the StarTAC was the clear choice. The folding design prevents accidental call placement (my wife has done this on her Panasonic a couple of times now), the VibraCall alert works great and the "smart" phonebook is an excellent feature (showing who's calling by name if they are already entered into the phonebook). My 6000e showed only the incoming number using analog Caller ID (exclusive to NBTel). The battery life is quite good based on my 600-800 min usage each month. Thus far, I get approx 3 days between charges (my phone is on from early morning to late evening). The slightly different user menus were a little cumbersome for the first 15 min or so, but easily mastered by taking the time to read the manual. Overall, I made a smooth transition from one phone to the other.
