I found that I retained material better when I both heard and read it. The solution? I read aloud. Having to say the words slows me down and forces me to take time to think. It also adds a physical (speaking) and auditory component to my study that makes it more effective.

Every college and university student should read this. And actually, I think it's good advice to follow for any courses you take in life - no matter where they be.
