When I first purchased this car seat it was as a second seat in daddy's truck, My daughter was already about 40lbs and we have loved the seat...

It was fairly simple to put together although it did take some patience. I have definetly seen easier ones. The seat cushion is very easy to remove in case of a spill, as are the tray cover and the protective covers that wrap around the arms to the tray They all simply velcro on and off. The cup holder was the most difficult thing to put on and it took my husband to squeeze it into position, and of course as will all the handy cup holders it will NOT accomodate a Gerber spill proof cup!

The car seat it self is very light weight in comparison to many, It is easy to move from one car to another and the belt positioning to install the seat is also easy, It simply goes under the seat cushion from one side to the other.

Now this car seat is great for an older child it is virtually hudini proof and will keep even the most active toddler confined. It is very easy to get the older larger chid into and out of even when the child is bundled up in the winter gear.

OK now for the CON' and it is a big one, The Fisher Price Futura car seat is NOT meant for a smaller child of 20 lbs as a matter of fact I would not put a child under 35++lbs in this car seat! The Fisher Price Futura car seat was tested by Consumer Reports and tested VERY unsafe for a small child! There heads will hit the front tray of the overhead shield model with damaging force! I do know there is a 5 point harness model in the car seat and I do not know hoe it tested in safety tests I am reffering only to the over head shield model.

I would recommend this car seat to someone with an older heavier child (35++lb) as the tests did not have the same effect on a larger child. But strongly advice against this seat for a smaller child. Fisher Price should do modifications to there size range on this seat.

The model I have is a very attractive tan color with navy blue and tan plaid coverings. I find my 4 year old 40++ lb child to find it very comfortable she sleeps comfortably in it as it has deep side "wings" to support her head and the seat cushion is not to thick but still sufficiant for comfort.
