I'm a mother of 6 kids ages 11 and under, and have had trouble keeping up with my laundry for a while, now. The day I got my Neptune, and put my first load of laundry in, I was amazed!!! It held twice as much laundry as my old washer did. TWICE AS MUCH. NO kidding! It's the largest USABLE capacity washer on the market. It doesn't have an agitator, so, not only is it more gentle on your clothes, but there's room for more laundry. In the instructions it says you can fill the tank up with laundry, but don't cram them in.... Without cramming, I can fit 11 ADULT sized pair of jeans in it. Try that in YOUR washer and see how many you can get in! I'm able to keep up with laundry effortlessly, now!
The Maytag Neptune is a water and energy saver. It has an automatic water adjuster thing in it so that you don't have to set a load size. It puts the amount of water in it that it detects is needed for the laundry that you put in. The Neptune also saves you money by having a 'Max Extract' setting. It spins the laundry out to where it's just a little damp, so that your drying time is less. I keep that feature on all the time, but you really wouldn't want to use that for materials that tend to be wrinkled. (Like Rayon type stuff).
Besides the usual features, here are some extra features that the Neptune has:
Delay wash- you can set the washer to start up to 9 hours later.
Max Extract- described above.
Hand wash- with no agitator, the washer is gentle on your hand washables!
