| kevs2fast4u's Full Review: 2000 Suzuki KATANA 600 |
Last year I was introduced to the motorcycle world by a couple of my friends and became instantly addicted. Unfortunately I purchased the wrong bike and regret my decision to this day. I bought my 2000 Suzuki Katana 600 for $5200.00 brand new, the MSRP on this bike is $6200.00. Although I saved money buying this bike it still was a very big mistake. The bike weighs almost 500 lbs. with the fluids and handles poorly. I guess for a beginner it was not a bad bike but after putting on over 5000 miles last year I realized this was not the bike for me. I had numerous problems with the bike last summer and the bike was less than a year old. To start things off the electrical system went and the bike would not start, after I resolved that problem another one popped up. I was riding with some friends in Boston and my brake-lever fell off and I had to ride home with out a front brake. I should have sued Suzuki for that. The bike has very slow acceleration compared to CBR's and GSXR's. Overall being a previous owner of a Can-a-tuna I would really recommend staying away from this bike at all costs.
