Pros: Nice Graphics.
Content that keeps you engaged, so long as you do Combat stuff.
Cons: AWOL Development Team (usually)
Social professions need a lot of help
Poor communication from Devs
The Bottom Line: This game's Development Team has problems. Especially with Social Professions. Avoid this game if you want to be an Entertainer. An AFK player will have more success than you.

I've played this game for 6 months now. It's a lot of fun, and friends are what keep you coming back.
The graphics are cool, and the options are endless. Sort of.
The single greatest drawback? The development team for this game.
They focus predominantly on the Jedi system and Jump to Lightspeed, and when they aren't focusing on that they focus on combat professions. Meanwhile, many non-combat roles in this game remain basically as they did at Launch.
Smuggler is an excellent example. Those poor Smugglers have need a Revamp from day one, and have gotten nothing but more aggravation to deal with (crafting changes that are inexplicable and were never fixed).
I shudder to think what the future holds for SWG. I wouldn't recommend playing an Entertainer, as the profession is dominated by Away From the Keyboard (AFK) macro players who now make more money in-game than live Entertainers do. The Developers claim they don't like it, but they've done nothing for months now - and the professions are slowly dying.
The entire time I've played this game, I've had Musician and/or Dancer skills, because of the Mos Eisley cantina scene - i wanted to play those horns and that weird box looking thing. Or, dance around like the Twi'lek in Jabba's Palace (the one the ol' Rancor got).
After having played this game this long, I wanted to tell potential customers interested in Entertainer professions in this game (called Social professions) how much the Entertainers are ignored in the game by the Developers, seen as a nuisance by the game community (they prefer the robots to live Entertainers, mostly - due to the inconvenience of broken game mechanics for live Entertainers that were never fixed), and the horrendous treatment Entertainers got during their recent addition to the game - 1 new song and 1 new dance since Launch.
The Entertainers' main money maker, Mind enhancements, can be AFK macroed. The code is also buggy and sometimes doesn't work. Music and Dance enhancements used to work at the same time (they take about 4 minutes to apply), yet that got broken over 2 months ago and we've never heard a word on them fixing it. So, Combat players now wait 8 minutes to get in the field ready to fight, instead of 4. Yet, nothing is done. Is 4 minutes of game time valuable to you? I know all my time is valuable.
This game has development problems, if you want to do anything besides combat. Heck, even the Revamp for the Combat system got pushed aside for Jump to Lightspeed starships and letting people get their precious Jedi character.
The development team completely ignored feedback from Entertainers and pushed to Live a dance which is known to have a broken base step in it. What kind of Development team solicits feedback on new content, gets it, then never communicates the concerns brought up, and seems to just implement broken junk like we never told them anything?
Our new Entertainer Quest was supposed to go Live 3 weeks ago. The date we were told came and went, and we never heard an update. When I say never, I mean never. We just...didn't get our stuff. No excuse. No explanation. Just didn't show up. That's horrible customer service.
This is most definitely a sign of things to come - they're in way over their heads if they can't even manage to organize 1 new song and 1 new dance and communicate to Entertainers like they're...hmmm...paying customers. I don't expect much from Jump to Lightspeed, given that bugs go unfixed since Launch of SWG - and new bugs go unfixed continually.
This game would probably be best avoided completely - it has serious issues. No lie. It's a ridiculous way to get treated for spending $15 per month for a game.
Account cancellation pending any response by Devs in SWG forums as to why Entertainers are treated the horrible way they were with their new content. No response yet. Big shock. It's like we don't exist to those people. Is that how you want to feel in a game?
