What's the top of the line in resolution.. (Reply to this comment)

Great note, would help to have periodic updates on
the top of the line resolution.
I saw an Epson 1650 with 1600x3200, 48 bit- for $200 on Amazon.com.
For others bewildered by the clutter like me, it would help to know the high end resolution in home scanners

there is a large number of scanners that process in 42-bit color internally. Even the low end Canon scanners have 42-bit color.
