Pros: Great Food, Free rooms offered when you get a players card and play enough!
Cons: Too far away to go as often as I would like.
The Bottom Line: Plush living quarters, safe Casino with plenty of gambling tables and slots (non-smoking area too), shows and food to die for.

The Grand Casino in Tunica, Mississippi is a very nice complex offering three large hotels all with ample security and shuttles to the Casino itself. The room I stayed in had a small apartment sized fridge in the room located just below the T.V. The T.V. was a large 31 inch set and the room only cost $39.00 a night. Deals of this sort must be prearranged, but are offered year round. Of course don't expect to get them on special days such as holidays and most weekends.
The Casino has every sort of gambling you would expect to find and the seafood buffet was to die for. The service throughout was fit for royalty. Everyone was very nice. Even saw one lady that had lost her room key that attempted to get a new one without proper ID go ballistic with the desk personal and he managed to remain clam and collected through the whole experience. The woman got in her room after her husband who was in the Casino was paged. She should have been thankful that the security was on place and her room was not opened for just anyone. If you call 1-800-THE-GRAND ask for Gretchen or Devin and tell them that Doug said "hi". They were very pleasant to deal with and had an upbeat attitude. They made the stay and with them being operators, I never even saw them.
Parking is certainly not a problem. Once again security is at the highest level. The Casino and hotels all have video cameras throughout for the visitors protection. The hotel building (Terrace Hotel) was absolutely beautiful and the backyard has a lake touching its property.
I arrived late in the night when the lobby and passageways of the hotel was void of people. I had my digital camera and I took many pictures of the lobby areas as they were so nice. I even took one of the elevator through it's door as it too was exceptionally pretty. I contacted and had some information sent to my address concerning company group rates and will be having our next seminar there.
The Grand is easy to locate coming from Memphis which is only twenty minutes down the highway. If you are planing a trip to Graceland you might wish to check as that I understand that Lisa Marie has closed the mansion to public. Rumor has it that she is selling the property to Michael Jackson, however that is not confirmed. If you are planing to go to Memphis, you could not do better than booking a room at the Terrace Hotel and driving to Memphis for the day.
I highly recommend The Grand in Tunica, Mississippi as your next Casino adventure. Enjoy and put $5.00 on number 18 for me.
