My experience of Vanns.com has been excellent overall.
I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-3 digital camera, together with several accessories. I placed the order on a weekend, through the store website: the shopping experience was smooth and painless, and I have no complaints other than a somewhat congested web page (which caused me to miss some accessories and have to order them separately a few days later. I got what I wanted (and I knew exactly what I wanted) at a good price. The store sent a (automated) response almost immediately, confirming the details of the order and indicating that the items would not actually be shipped until Monday after a person had checked out the credit card number specified. I liked this because it gave me a realistic expectation of when to expect the shipment.
As mentioned, the somewhat cluttered web page caused me to miss a couple of items (a package deal involving the camera I was buying, an extra battery, and a battery charger), so I phoned the store on Monday to change my order. This was a smooth and pleasant experience -- the staff was competent and courteous, and the changes to my order were made quickly with no sales pressure whatsoever to buy anything additional.
The shipment happened as promised, and I was able to track the shipment via the FedEx and UPS web sites. The items were delivered on time. I got exactly what I had ordered.
A few days later I decided to return the extra battery charger I had ordered (I hadn't known this at the time, but the camera came with a charger already). The store's return policy was clearly documented in the merchandise I had been shipped, and the experience of contacting the store to get return authorization was quick and painless. I received credit for the returned items roughly a week after I shipped them back.
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with Vanns.com, and would definitely order from them again.
