by Donnie013 | May 31 '01
I would recommend these pictures to those who have a romantic heart and like to lose themselves in a good love story.

But what about "Love is a Many Splendid Thing"....That movie still makes me cry when she runs up the hill and sees the butterfly...and the music builds to a cresendo....
Thanks so much for the warm and sweet comment you wrote me on my latest...

Very good list, although I would have added Sleepless in Seattle in there, your list was very accurate in my point of view. What about Titanic though? I'd have to at least put that at ten or something. Anyhow, good job, keep up the good work.

Love Is A Many Splendid Thing...is that from Moulin Rouge? WHen Ewan Macgregor sings the Elephant Love Medlay? Of well, good list.

According to Webster's dictionary, they have the same meaning: grand or magnificent. The only difference is spelling.

Just an FYI... (Reply to this comment)

I'll admit that I'm not at all a fan of the romantic comedy (or the romantic drama) genres, but differences in tastes are what make these types of lists interesting.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you something about the TITLE of your review... the actual idiom I think you're going for is "Love is a many SPLENDORED thing..."

I agree completely, but I wanted to keep the list to 10 and had tough time deciding on which ones to list and which ones to keep off. S I S was one I almost added as an 11th. But on a second thought, I chose to keep it off as it was more of a "meeting" than a love story. The love didn't actually happen YET. The stories I chose were ones where the love already existed but met with many challanges.

just *recollecting* the films as I read about them. What a list! The only one I would have had to add is Sleepless in Seattle, though I'm not sure which one I'd remove in order to do so. Since I have only seen seven on the list, it would have to be one of the three I haven't viewed, I suppose, as those seven are keepers! :) (I suppose you could make the argument that Sleepless can't stand on its own due to it's being a takeoff of An Affair to Remember, but since that wasn't considered modern enough, Sleepless in Seattle still has my vote!)
