My wife ordered a North Western Bell 5.8 GHz Cordless Phone with Caller ID and Answering Machine (HSN Item no.166-420) from HSN.com. Everyone I called could hardly hear me and I could hardly hear them, I doubt that the phone was even a true 5.8 Ghz. This shoddy quality is typical of the "Bell" Brands of phones. This would be the third bad experience we have had with HSN. The first order was a laptop bag, when I received it, the bag looked very much different from the one pictured so I sent it back. It took several weeks to receive a refund. The second order was for a JVC camcorder. The camcorder arrived with an obviously cracked lens and the camera malfunctioned. I chose to send the camera to JVC for warranty repair(I figured this would be a better option than trying to find justice from HSN). JVC immediately sent me a new camera with no hassle. After the three bad dealings with HSN i'm calling it quits. As far as phones go, I know bullcrap when I see it(I used to be a phone collector). Honestly, I would have been better off getting an old 900-Mhz phone from the local close-out store. Their shipping is not the best either sometimes it can take weeks before an order arrives. The tracking system sometimes has broken links that make it impossible to track your order(ship date, estimated delivery date, etc.). My advice...steer clear of HSN. I mean don't do it, it's not worth the trouble.
