Pros:Sensitive, advanced sensitivity options
Cons:not very ergonomic, expensive
The Bottom Line: If your happy with your mouse right now, there's no need for you to switch.
Well, I wanted to try it out coming from the MS Explorer mouse (optical) and so far it's been a mixed welcome.
The mouse went in fine with the software, I was very impressed by all the packaging, but when I finally got rolling with it, I wasn't so impressed with the accuracy or the ergonomics.
First of all, I find it hard to say that its any more accurate, if any over my MS Explorer mouse. It is slightly more sensitive, but that’s about it. The mouse buttons are comparable, but IMHO the customizable software for the buttons on the Explorer mouse is much easier to use.
Now this isn't meant to be a comparison of the two, but it's the only two mice I've really had my hands on over this weekend.
Aside from the disappointing increase in accuracy and sensitivity, I would like to point out the on the fly sensitivity adjustment which is a godsend. Also, the advanced sensitivity settings that allow you to play with the X and Y settings are very useful for the seasoned gamer.
There remain a few minor things. My mouse seems to squeak as I push it around, apparently from the ring that holds the ball in. Coming from an optical mouse this seems very heavy, probably because of the ball. This, however, makes it hard to use as I've found in games like CS.
The mouse seems like it has some potential, so I would say try it. Some people swear by them, I'll just try to keep getting used to mine.
