We recently stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City Michigan for my sons hockey tournament.Upon arriving,we noticed buffalo were roaming about in front of the lodge so of course we had to check that out first.They were magnificent.They were enclosed with a fence of course but it was too cool to see the baby buffalo.

When you walk into the front of the hotel they have big totem poles carved from wood and the doors are also made of wood.When you enter the lodge there is a huge clock and wolves that look like they are real.Actually they have quite a bit of stuffed animals all around.The staff was very courteous and we walked right up to the desk for our room key with no wait.

We ended up getting a family suite which was just beautiful.I must say that this is by far the nicest room that we've stayed in and we've stayed in alot of rooms seeing as my son plays travel hockey.

Now for the best part which is the water park.It was just awesome.They have three slides that are just a riot. You go down them in inflatable rafts and one of the slides go to the outside.You fly down the slides and at some point end up in the total darkness and you do not know what will happen next. It is very cool you have to experience it for yourself.My description does not do it justice. They also have a big bucket of water that dumps down on everyone periodically throughout the day. Its funny to see people race to the bucket. Some even lose their shorts because the force is so strong.The water park is a definite must for any family.

So if you are ever in the area or want to plan a fun family vacation Great Wolf Lodge is a perfect pick for any family. It is a guaranteed blast!!!
