well, the same thing happened to me,
i used nair to get rid of the hair on my legs.
It worked a little bit on both legs but
when i got in the shower i broke out into hives
serious hives.
i was rushed to the hospital with an allergic reaction to it.
DO NOT USE NAIR.

Well I used Nair for the first time today on my belly. After applying it once, and waiting 3 minutes, i checked to see if the hair was gone; it wasnt. So i had to reapply it 2 or 3 times before the hair was gone. The result? My skin is now burning and itching and in some places its red. If youre going to buy nair products, PLEASE do the 24 hour test!!!!! YOur skin with thank you later!

This review is more of a product review than a general review on "How to choose a hair removal system"....

Your review would be better placed under the actual product listing that you have reviewed.

Beware of using chemicals on your body while carrying a child. Some chemicals can be absorbed into the skin and affect an unborn child. I am not saying that Nair is dangerous, I am saying I don't know. If you don't know, don't use it. Good review. Get your husband to help you shave your legs, that is what I did.

This was the first time I've used it for like 5 years. When I was 12 It didn't work at all. It also didn't make me break out. I only wax and shave my legs with a razor.
I don't think I'll attempt it agian :-)

Two words (Reply to this comment)

Electric razor.

OK, I do have a few more words. The reason they tell you to do the allergy test every time is just so you won't sue them for a reaction like this. You don't have to be allergic to it, just sensitive to extremely caustic chemicals...after all, it is burning through hair.

The same goes for the products that are just for bleaching the hair. I think the more you use them, the more likely you are to develope a reaction. I know I was.

lol, my husband had no sympathy for me when it happened!
He was like, you should have followed the directions and taken the allergy test. I am lucky my hubby does not mind a bit of fuzz because I am not going to risk the Nair again. (And I can't use a razor...I can't see over my tummy!)
Take care,
Kay

P.s. and we cannot sue because we did not follow the directions! (Skipping the test)

lol! "spose" is gone. :-) No, I didn't mean to. I'm a dork sometimes... (as you can tell from my review, stupid allergy tests...who needs them! hehe)
thanks again,
Kay

Good information (Reply to this comment)

I can't help asking, did you use "spose" instead of "supposed" on purpose? Sometimes I spell words wrong to be funny, but I didn't get the feeling you did here. If not, you might want to edit to correct. (Sorry, but it distracted me a bit from your review).

I think we all tend to ignore those allergy tests -- I'm always too anxious to use the product. So thanks for the reminder!
