Welcome to the neighborhood!!!
I was over to check out your profile earlier and found out that you retired from DR.
No doubt, you're considerably younger, as you're about to undergo some major surgery that I don't think too many people his age receive, but did you happen to know him back when he worked there--or at any other time?
Best wishes with your operation. That's a pretty drastic operation, but it has helped my cousin, Phil, and his wife, Sandy. They wouldn't have taken that route, though, if not that there were a lot of serious health considerations that made it very necessary.
You'll be in my prayers.

Ainsley...I'm just waiting to hear when your first book will be published, or has one been already? I just recently joined after reading the extremely moving story you wrote in memory of your father.I loved this story as well, because I love the little creatures of this world, and in my heart they are as true as people to me as anyone can ever be.Always loving unconditionally...they give so much and ask so little in return.Don't EVER stop writing!

You're welcome!!!
I love getting comments, too!
It's nice when people even take the time to read and rate me, but it's just that much nicer to find messages! :o)

Poor, tired baby! You just got the words reversed and stuck together (and spelled differently).
Meaning that you made "bratwurst" out of "worst brat!" lolololol
It's so nice to see you again! I've been missing you! Hugs 2 U & Yours!!! :o)

Brat? Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Brat!!!!! I thought this was a food review about bratwurst. Good review and I enjoyed it anyway! Hope things are well! Sorry, I guess I'm just over-tired.

Bob, I guess the secret to my success is that--though I'm 12 times as old now as I was then--I'm still that little kid in a lot of ways and can remember what it was like! My folks--not to mention my bus driver--should be awarded Purple Hearts!!! :o)

a great piece of writing! (Reply to this comment)
by bobbo428
Ainsley Jo,
This was a great piece of writing--one of your best yet. Reading it reminded me of the time I got lost in the woods at age 4, as well as the time when I was 12 and had a close call when a stranger offered me a rid (I refused his offer--if I had accepted it, who knows where I'd be now!).
You really know how to get inside a kid's mind and tell the story in a way both children and adults could relate to.

Just tell Can to be sure to give Tabasca her own private limo, the best suite at the best hotel in each city she makes appearances in, and plenty of shrimp and lobster tails to feast on BLD, and you MIGHT have a cooperative cat!!! :o)

A Wonderful First Draft. (Reply to this comment)
by macresarf1
Dear AinsleyJo: You have the start of a memoir here, for sure. Thank you for your comment on my piece. I'll look in on your friend. I fear a movie about my life with Tabasca here might not, alas, be a conventional children's story, much as it may look it. (And Tabasca would demand final cut, even to put her nose on camera!)
Regards.

I've updated it, because I was so behind that I forgot to add the links-to-participants information. That's been fixed now, however, and it's there, along with a plug for Bluehawq's Nest!!! Thanks for being such a good friend and all-around special person! I know the Lord smiles on (and about) you!!! =)
