Pros: cheap since the new unit came out from Logitech, good feel
Cons: not precise enough, no way to have the real feel of real thing
The Bottom Line: go ahead if you want and need a gaming wheel but don't bother if you only play driving games casually.

| pastorsoh's Full Review: Logitech Driving Force Racing Wheel for PS2 |
The place that I bought Logitech wireless controller for PS2 charged so much for shipping but they also offered this unit at a bargain price without additional shipping so I bought it.
First thing you notice is that this thing is not a small piece of hardware. It has the wheel unit, base for your lap, and pedals. Power goes into the main unit and the pedal connects to the main through a wire that looks like a telephone line. Then another line from the main goes to PS2 unit via USB. It's messy but much simpler than I thought.
Since I only have Burnout 3 to try this unit with (I also have Grand Turismo 3 but haven't tried it yet), my review will be based on my limited experience.
The game automatically recognize the unit and gives it the control over gamepad. The response is very good with vibration. It has thumbpad on the right side of the wheel (about 10 O'clock position) and 4 buttons (1-4) on the other side. R1,2 L1,2 are located on the spokes of the wheel as well as Start and and the other button (I don't know what it's called) on the other spoke. There are two paddles behind left, right spokes for either L1, R1 buttons (when the paddles are used) or gas/brake (when the paddles are detached). Overall, the layout is excellent.
A few things that noticed is that in Burnout 3, while you are driving the thumbpad does not work. It only works in the menu screen. So in impact time (burnout 3 feature), you cannot really control where your car's going since the wheel is only for left and right direction. You cannot control up and down direction control with the wheel. In Burnout 3, without this feature, "crash" is not playable.
Burnout 3 does not let me reconfigure buttons but it's not the wheel's fault.
As with other wheels, I don't know... but other than fun factor, I don't really like driving with wheels. It feels good and makes you feel like driving a real (or arcade) car but you cannot just control it as precisely as gamepad. One good thing about it is at least, turning is much better handled with wheels.
So if you still want a wheel controller for your PS2 games, go with this unit but if not, don't bother with wheels at all.
