Your machine must be an older one, possibly from the early '80's. I think they WERE good back then.
Mine is from late'98. The interior is a plastic tub & inner door. The wash arms are plastic, as well as the control panel & the top - a wood-look top. But it's still going strong. And it does a fantastic job!! Only one service call, & it was not for anything mechanical!
The lower front panel was dented when the machine was delivered, so it was replaced at no cost to me.
First time that I heard of anyone having trouble with a Maytag fridge! I guess it's true that they REALLY DON'T make their products like they used to years ago!!

My Matag fridge is horrible! All of the shelving on the door broke the first year. I have had problems with the thermostat from day one. And the bottom of the base of the fridge cracked! All of the food in the fridge part stays frozen in some areas and warm in others?!
I liked the Matag dishwasher then, but not sure about the Matag dishwashers today. They seem to be made much cheaper. Mine (moveable) had a chopping block made from solid wood. I don't see that anymore. I am going to miss my old ghost! My older model seemed so much larger than the ones I have been looking at. I need sturdy, and big.

Only their clothes washers as of late.
I also own a Maytag dishwasher! It's only four years old. And I, also, use Dawn! I like Dawn Power Plus though. Nothing else seems to work any better!
Great review, by the way! Keep up the good work!!

Congratulations appreciated, but I hope I don't give in to the cravings. For me, quiting is worse than any diet I have ever been on. I am really trying to make that change.
Thanks for reading.

I am trying to beck into the swing of things. Thank you so much for your comment.

review, and congratulations on quitting smoking. While I've never been a smoker, I understanding quitting can be equal to getting off heroin. . .
I would think that after quitting smoking your tastebuds and smell would be more sensitive, so what you state about the residue makes perfect sense.
I enjoy Dawn too!

I thought that Maytags never die! I have missed your reviews and can't wait to get through them all and see what is going on in your life. I hope...only good things.
My best,
