Pros: Great price for PTZ webcam, robust features, java based, good picture quality.
Cons: Buggy software, no alternate software interface, viewer interface not robust.
The Bottom Line: Worth the money for quality and features offered. But it's a tidy sum. So compare prices and features with similar devices from Sony, Canon, D-Link, Veo, etc.

| sausage-dog's Full Review: Toshiba IK-WB11A Webcam |
I've been using the Toshiba IK-WB11A Webcam for about a month now. Overall I've been very satisfied with the camera quality and features. I've also experienced a couple of strange behaviors as well, but I think it's mainly due to Toshiba's software interface and possibly the webcam firmware (mine is 302-312-311-111, as reported by the camera). At times the web viewer just stops responding and doesn't seem to update. I don't usually have to reboot the camera (power it off) to make it correct, just restart the web browser interface again. The picture quality is very good for a web cam, supporting up to 1260x980. In reality that's heavily compressed but the quality is still far better than most USB webcams I've used. I can't tell the difference on wireless and wired ethernet - seems to perform well on either, regardless of the settings. Wireless took a little to setup and get initially configured but it was manageable if you can configure some basic settings in your router. The pan/tilt/zoom features work fairly well. Should be noted the zoom is digital rather than optical. Again most of the issues I've had have been with the java interface in the viewer. By the way, works equally well with IE and Mozilla (Firefox) browsers because it's using Java. Same can't be said for many other PTZ IP webcams using only Microsoft's ActiveX. The hardware itself is also fairly solid and capable of being used indoors or out (thanks to the wireless). Would be even better if there were some type of wireless signal strength indicator - software or some lights on the camera. The only tether is the power cord which is about 30 feet long. Overall I'd say it's a great value for the price, works very well most of the time, and has alot of configurable features.
