The hand-me-down vacuum I've had for the past several years wasn't working very well anymore. I'm on a budget, so when I was vacuum shopping in K Mart and saw the Eureka SuperBroom was only $18.99, I couldn't pass it up.

I got it home, assembled the handle, and plugged it in. And then I tried to use it. At first I thought I must have made a mistake. This "broom" was obviously not meant to be used on carpet. But when I reread the box, it clearly stated "For quick cleaning on carpet." This is a LIE!! Then I realized it wouldn't vacuum on my hardwood floors either. It picked up a few specks of dust, but could not even pick up a piece of hair. And when I tried to vacuum up a penny (not that I usually vacuum up money, but I was just testing it out) the penny did not move.

When I brought the vacuum back to K Mart, I expected them to ask me questions or make me fill out a form. They didn't do any of that. As soon as I put it on the counter and said "I want to return this," the customer service guy said "Piece of crap, right?" It turned out he had previously purchased (and returned) the same vacuum.

A few days later, vacuum shopping again, I saw another customer considering the Eureka SuperBroom. "Don't be tempted by the price," I warned him, and told him about my similar mistake. I wanted to stand in the store and warn everyone and then I remembered -- I could just go home and write an Epinion! Take my advice, and you'll save yourself a trip to the store to return this piece of junk. If a vacuum is only $20, there's a reason it's so cheap.
