Now in my home, we have way too many computers and the last thing I needed was yet another computer. But I wanted a light one to carry around instead of my dell laptop that I had bought a year ago.
I really didn't want to spend so much on a laptop when all I would really do is word process, I already had my dell laptop for everything eles. Well one day, someone told me about the alphasmart and I thought I would check it out and I found it under www.alphasmart.com and when I first saw it, I knew it was perfect.
So I bought it and it fed-exed here in about three or four days. And then later on, I bought the carrying case (20$, but very worth it for those friends who just can't help themselves and then end up typing on it!).
The alphasmart is great for those times when you don't feel like lugging your heavy laptop out for typing. Also, with the alphasmart, you don't risk getting your 2000$ laptop stolen or broken.
this little thing is very lightwieght for taking places, like a meeting or whatever. I'm not sure of exact pounds, but I know that it is very light. So light, that most of the time, I just leave it on my lap and type.
Its very easy to use also, there is no save button to hit, the alphasmart just automatically saves the document for you. This is such a great feature because I have actually forgoten to save things on the computer and then lost the document, with the alphasmart, that doesn't happen.
It's is very easy to transfer documents from the alphasmart to the computer. Just type on the alphasmart and then connect the cord to the alphasmart and the computer and just hit send on the alphasmart and then it goes right into the computer. very easy to do.
also the price on the alphasmart is not nearly as expensive as a laptop, its great for people who need a laptop, but can't afford one.
This would also be ideal for college students to bring into class instead of bringing in a laptop. Its great for anyone. I know people who use it for homework too!
I would recommend the alphasmart to anyone!
