| brittanytg's Full Review: General Reviews of Nextel Customer Service |
My review of Nextel will be short and to the point because there is just no use in wasting my time explaining EVERY detail of why they are so horrible. Not to mention the fact that apparently LOTS of other people have already written reviews on how awful this company is, so I won't waste my time elaborating on it.
First of all, the actual phone service itself is bad. The two-way works probably 7 out of 10 times, and don't even ask about the actual phone part. Forget having any service at all if you're inside a house, you'll have to step outside to even receive a phone call. If you have this much of a problem being inside a house, you can imagine how bad service is when you're inside of a store, mall, corporate building, elevator, etc...
Next up, their billing department either doesn't know what they're talking about or they're trying to rip people off. Perhaps both. I have a plan that includes free long distance, so one month when I got an extra charge for the long distance phone calls that I made, I attempted to make things right by calling the company and explaining the problem. First of all, they didn't even understand what I was trying to tell them. The customer service rep that I was speaking to kept cutting me off mid-sentence to try and predict what my problem was. When I was finally able to explain it, they acted like I was the stupid one. "No, ma'am, you see, the plan that you signed up for is the plan that includes long distance up to 100 minutes and any minutes over that you'd have to pay for." Well, I replied, "I don't even think that Nextel HAS a plan like that, but even if you did, I am positive that I am signed up for UNLIMITED long distance calling." She argued with me. "No, you're not ma'am." So, then I inquired as to why I was being CHARGED for unlimited long distance if I didn't have it. That stopped her dead in her tracks...I guess she was hoping that I wouldn't notice or something. She suddenly got all hasty. "Well, I guess so, that's fine then just don't pay it, thanks for using Nextel, BYE." Jeez. Then, the VERY next month, my long distance plan was taken off of my bill altogether, and I NEED long distance. So, I call back....you can see where this is going.
Eventually, I got it all worked out, but even though I have set rates with plans where I get so many minutes and I never go OVER my minutes, sometimes my bill varies for no real reason that I can see. This is aggravating, but an extra $2 is not even WORTH dealing with their customer service.
If it wasn't for the fact that I have to have this phone for work, I would wrap it up in hate-mail and throw it through the window of the top floor corporate office of the nearest nextel building I could find.
The end!
