Songs to make me love you and songs I'll play if we break up

The Bottom Line I would recommend the love songs listed for you Casanovas out there, and the breakup songs against the dirtheads you dated

I figured I'd look at both sides of the romance angle here by picking 5 songs that would make me love someone and 5 songs that I'd play if the guy broke up with me and I was in a ticked off mood. These are not necessarily songs that would be considered the best love songs or the best hate songs, and there is probably gonna be a zillion I'm leaving out, but these are just gonna be 5 that come to my head from both sides.

SONGS OF LOVE:

1. Pretty Woman-Roy Orbinson. This is a short song, a simple song, but it's a very sweet song. It's about a guy who sees this girl walk by and he likes her and hopes she'll notice him, and in the end, she does. Roy wrote this after seeing his wife walk by in the living room (awww!), and it's just a really sweet song. If I had to pick my absolute favorite song of all time, this one would be it. And this is a great love song.

2. Layla-Derek and the Dominoes. This is one of those I'm-in-love-with-my-best-friend's-wife songs, and it obviously worked, because the girl this song is about ended up with Eric Clapton. Granted, it didn't last long, but still, it is a love song, and if there has ever been a situation where a guy is in love with a girl and feels the guy the girl is currently dating isn't worthy of her, this song could be just the thing, and maybe that girl will choose the guy who likes her but wasn't dating her.

3. Angel Eyes-Jeff Healy Band. I love this song, too. This song is about a guy who never thought he'd have such a pretty girl fall in love with him and want to be with him, and he's not sure what he did or said to have this girl like him, but he sure is glad she's there. This is a good song to slow dance to.

4. Something-The Beatles. This is a nice song, too. It's about a guy who says there is something about this girl that he likes, he's not exactly sure what this something is, but it's there, he likes her for it, and there you go.

5. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton. This is another good slow song. This song is about a couple who has a romantic night planned, and the guy is telling the girl she looks wonderful. This works for a romantic evening.

SONGS THAT SAY, "GET OUT OF MY FACE AND DON'T EVER SHOW UP HERE AGAIN, BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU ANYMORE!" IN OTHER WORDS, BREAK-UP SONGS:

1. You Oughta Know-Alanis Morrisette. You knew this had to be in there somewhere. This is pretty much a "f*** you" song. This song is actually about an ex-boyfriend of Alanis' (ouch, feel sorry for that guy!), and it's good for us girls who've been two-timed by our exes.

2. In The Air Tonight-Phil Collins. If I ever found my boyfriend or girlfriend cheating on me, this song would be perfect. This song is about Phil's wife (or ex-wife, I would now assume), whom he caught cheating on him (yeow!). Most of the song is slow and ominous, and to me, this would be the anger building up inside, then there is this loud drum solo, and that to me is the anger being released. I could release my anger to this song (not by hitting anyone, mind you) by screaming in my room, punching the snot out of my pillows, whatever.

3. Don't Speak-No Doubt. This is my favorite No Doubt song. This song was also written about a breakup with someone, and Gwen Stefani is singing about how the relationship is dying and she's sad to see it end, and the guy is trying to stop the breakup, but she's like, "No, it's over". This is the song that I'd listen to after my anger is gone and I'm calmed down to the depressed stage.

4. Don't Come Around Here No More-Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Ah, yes, you knew I'd find a way to sneak them in here, didn't you? This song is pretty self-explanatory. This girl and Tom have broken up, and yet she still comes by every day, hoping to patch things up. Just one problem: Tom doesn't want to see her anymore, and is telling her to just go away. Sounds a little harsh, but isn't that what a breakup's all about?

5. You Give Love A Bad Name-Bon Jovi. Someone's a little bitter in this song. It's about a girl who has screwed her guy over, and therefore, the guys of Bon Jovi are saying that this girl "gives love a bad name", hence the title. So this song is another good breakup song, because the title fits for either boys or girls. You could play this song, see your ex walk or drive by, and open your window and yell, "Hey, so-and-so! This is what I think of you!" Then blare the song, watch for a dirty look, then laugh your head off. At least, that's what some people would do. Some would probably just sit there in their room crying while this song's playing.

I'm okay, seriously.

So there's my list of love songs and songs for breakups. Like I said, I'm probably missing a lot, so if anyone wants to throw in their own ideas when they comment, that's fine. Or if you like the list the way it is, that's fine, too. Whatever.
