Sometimes, we think we have to be a genius to operate some of this state-of-the-art computer hardware and software. I think its paranoid delusional behavior. There are so many choices out there...that's why I'm here...to narrow your choices down and let you know about my experiences with products I've personally tried.
Take a look at scanners...now if you don't know what the heck these boxey looking things are, you're just left in bewilderment. They look kinda plain on the outside, but inside is a world of technological advances. Scanners are used more and more frequently in businesses and homes today. If you don't have one now, you might be thinking about purchasing one in the future. You can scan (copy items, documents, and pictures which are then transferred to your monitor) which you can save as .JPGs, .GIFS, or .BMPs. My husband uses our scanner to scan objects he sells on ebay, anything from a minerals to baseball cards. See...now there's a great idea...use your scanner to take pictures of items you would like to sell on eBay!
YOU! Yes YOU! could scan your pictures, documents, your hand (or other extremities) if you want to, save them, and attach them to emails to send to your relatives, you could place them on your personal web page. Yes you COULD even scan a picture of yourself or a favorite picture and put it right here on your epinions page! And let all those other epionioneers see just what you look like. Seeing how I use a scanner at my job every day, I am familiar with the general operation of scanners. YOU can be just as familiar with scanners too!
This scanner is so easy to use, it has One-Step access. The instruction book is easy to understand and follow. Before you know it, you'll have this baby out of the box, plugged in, software installed, and you'll be the talk of the town when you place your DOCUMENTS, PICTURES, OBJECTS face down on the glass and scan them and place them on the web, print them, email them, what a cool world we live in, Yeah!
Once you have your software installed and the scanner hooked up to your PC and working outlet, you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll be scanning. Just access your software, position your picture or document upsidedown on the scanning window and hit Scan, the document comes up on your monitor and you have the ability to crop, rotate, resize, or flip the document right there on your screen, when your finished and it looks clear and precisely what you wanted, just save it your hard drive or disk with the proper extension, like .jpg. It's easiest to save smaller (not too small) documents if you are going to send them by email, that way the receiver doesn't have to wait to open up the file. Wow! Was that easy or what? Scan another!
Now I purchased the HP 5300cse because as I've stated in other reviews, I just love HP products. This particular scanner was priced right at $199 plus tax, and I've seen it at Best Buy and Circuit City, and all over the web. It features:
1200 DPI (Dots per Inch) Optical Resolution
9600 DPI Enhanced Resolution
Color Scanning
36-bit Bit Depth
Compatible with MAC and PCs
Maximum Document Size to be scanned: 8.5 x 11.7" & 8.5 x 14"
Software: HP PrecisionScan
Yes, believe me, it's that simple...well almost. Don't be shy! Go for it! You will soon be a Scanner Pro too! The world of scanning is at your fingertips...
Enjoy!
