The Bottom Line Everyone makes mistakes so why attack someone's grammar or spelling if on the whole their opinion is sound.
I do not mean to be impolite or anything but to rate someone's opinion according to their grammatical competence is just ridiculous. Yes I can see giving someone a low rating if their entire opinion is plagued with spelling and grammatical errors, thus making it difficult to understand. However if there are a few mistakes here and there that really do not confuse the reader then I do not see why that should be considered when it comes time to give a rating. I am a college student and I feel that there is a time and a place to critique someone's grammar. When I write a college essay I expect my professor to carefully search for any mistakes I might have made. But I find it to be simply absurd for people to hunt for spelling mistakes just so they can have justification to give a lower rating. Whats the deal, does it make you feel superior to point out one's grammatical errors? I see epinions as a laid back way of speaking your mind on different issues. What I mean is that as long as person articulates their point then I do not care if they made a few spelling errors along the way. Some of the members need to lighten up and refrain from dissecting one's opinion. I am not saying that I am a professional opinion evaluator but I'm surely not going to deem someone's work to be not helpful or only somewhat helpful just because they may have misspelled a few words. As long as the content is solid and gets the point across then that is all that matters to me. If you prefer to pick at someone's grammar then go right ahead and continue to do so and just to give you something to do I will not edit my opinion for spelling or grammatical errors. |
