the name of the movie is "The Sandlot", not "The Sandbox". Other than that great job with your reviews and if you get a chance, don't forget to add "Summer Catch" in there with something like 0-5, 3K, hit into unassisted triple play...

Nice list and nice review. There are some older baseball movies you don't list that I would - at least Pride of the Yankees and It Happens Every Spring if not a few others, but to each his (or her) own.

Scott, I asked you to tell your Sixers to make the series interesting. I guess it worked.

Nice job. I totally forgot about "Long Gone"; I saw it about 900 years ago, but it's great.

Since you included bad movies in this list... (Reply to this comment)

...you shouldn't leave out Mr. Baseball with Tom Selleck playing in Japan. It's actually not horrible, at least at the level of Major League II or The Scout. Good job!

Excellent Job, pretty much agreed with you on all counts, loved the scoring system too...so clever, aren't ya.

Curious what you thought about the HBO movies, 61(Roger Maris & Mickey Mantle chasing The Babe's record in 1961).... and The Jackie Robinson story with Blaire Underwood, and Delroy Lindo. Figured because they are HBO movies, you didn't include them in the list. Would really like to know what you thought of them, if you have the time.

Peace

I've never been a baseball fan until this year when I got involved in Fantasy Baseball, but oddly enough it appears I have caught dang near every one of these movies.

Noted a biggie that you struck out, the recent release by HBO of '61 by Billy Crystal, an outstanding production!

My favorite was COBB and truthfully, when I wrote the review it was when I decided that I would write almost nothing but movies for Epinions.

A great list guy, I'm with you on those Bad News Bears .... grrrrrrr ....

You're safe,
Susi

Just when I thought I was all caught up on movies I wanted to see, I read your review. Now I have to go to the video store and look for at least four more titles!

Seriously, great work and an excellent overview of baseball movies, lame-o sequels and all.

...don't mess with A League of their Own & I won't have to retaliate on Field of Dreams. One thing we agree on - Costner is a weenie (I just saw American Flyer this wkend).

Good overview on baseball movies. I gotta check out "Bang the drum slowly".

(Can you tell your Sixers to at least make it interesting?)
