Pros: Good value on cheapest rate plan, around-the-clock phone support
Cons: Account errors are time consuming to remedy
The Bottom Line: Other than the few instances of time-consuming technical support, I'm pleased with the service and features I'm receiving on Verizon's least expensive plan.

Overall, I'm pleased with the service I've received from Verizon Wireless. I'm currently four months into a two year contract, so this preliminary satisfaction is a relief.
When I was shopping around for the perfect combination of the hardware (I settled on the LG V111, free with 2-year contract) and service, the Verizon $20 plan gave me the most flexibility (125 anytime minutes) for the price. Since many of my calls are incoming, the fact that the plan came with first-incoming-minute-free was also a plus.
I've had several instances where I've had to call customer service. For the most part, the Verizon customer service reps in my region (Hawaii) are very friendly and willing to accommodate reasonable requests.
After normal office hours in Hawaii, calls are routed to a centralized office elsewhere. These reps are a little less willing to remedy problems; it took almost half an hour to convince a rep to credit me for a $3 feature that I had canceled but was still billed for.
I've also had two instances where Verizon's switch "lost" my phone's serial number, resulting in loss of service from my phone. Twice I found myself carrying a virtual paperweight that could not make or receive calls. Calling customer service solved the problem, but it took at least half an hour per incident to troubleshoot and solve. Hopefully it's not a recurring problem.
