| manu820's Full Review: Asus A7V |
I purchased this board having past experiences with ASUS. Out of the box the manual was not 100% correct. On ASUS website there was also a warning to update the bios with a newer version. It took a couple of days to get it running right but the I started experiencing some heat and power problems. System was running way too hot. I fixed it by upgrading the bios (once again). The power problem was weird. I'm running WIN Me and every time I would restart system, I would get no video. Contacted ASUS and after about 1 hour of tech support the told me that I needed to install a patch for the HDD. It seems that because I was running a SCSI U2W hdd, the drive was shutting down too fast for the system. Having fixed all those problems, my system is now running well. This is a good board and in the last version, they fixed most bugs.
