As a non-homo-sexual i take offense to your critique of the may 30 2001 show. If you would please wipe your semen encrusted ears, you would realize what a spectacular show DETROIT surely was treated to. Take a minute from listening to ERASURE, (if you can slap your boyfriend's limp wrist!!!) to listen to the real deal!! U2 has been and never will be the heroes of a very GAY OHIO!! R U from colombus??? Meet you at the PILLOWBITER CAFE !! With LUV from THE 313

St Andrews does usually have the best crowds - I still think the most pathetic crowd ever in Detroit was at the Royal Oak Music theatre. Or any show at the Labyrinth. =)
Thanks for the rating and comment!

.
I've seen a number of shows in Detroit and their crowd's seem to always suck. St. Andrews usually has a decent audience, but one of the best crowd experience's ever, indeed, came at The Palace. David Bowie and 1991's Sound & Vision Tour. But jeez, $85. I paid $45 and i was in the first 10 rows --- crazy.

Part of the problem was the damn apathy level in Detroit. I've never known a crowd in Detroit that's been into any show. Sad, really. =)

There *is* supposed to be a second US leg of the tour in the fall covering some of the cities that they didn't get to this time around and some of the sold out cities. Might get to check it out then.

I saw that as well. I was annoyed that the band looked like they were having fun. =)

Courtney-
Sorry to hear about how disappointing your U2 concert was- and very surprised. I last went to a U2 concert about seven years ago and it was one of the more high-energy concerts I've ever attended- both the band and the audience! I guess Bono and the rest of us have aged a bit since then and it's starting to show. I think I'll skip this tour entirely!...Mark

I Went and Saw U2s Popmart Tour... (Reply to this comment)

but it turned out to be a little disappointing. I thought that the Elevation Tour would be a little better, but unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go.
Great Review!

NBC showcased two songs from U2's 6/6/01 concert in Boston during the half-time show (LA Lakers vs. Philly 76'ers). Looked like a great show!
