The Bottom Line You just do your best to ignore what they say and do.
In a perfect world, there would be no bullies and school shootings. Unfortunatley, that isn't true, so we have to deal with both of them, but I've learned a way to avoid bullies. Here's one thing: Bullies usually have unhappy lives at home and take it out on other people to express themselves. Despite this, you don't want to show them any mercy. Some bullies are tricky and pretend to be your friend for a while, and then, they turn on you. There are a few strategies I've learned in my time to deal with bullies. The best advice I can think of is to ignore them, if you ignore them, then they won't be having fun. Bullies have fun pushing other people around, but if you ignore them, they won't be having fun and will leave you alone. Also, if a bully teases you with phrases such as "You're so ugly," or "You're so stupid," DO NOT become emotional. This really satisfies bullies and will continue if you cry of get sad about what they say. If you talk to kids about it, it's best to just give what I said straight. Some kids are very sensitive and worry about people getting mad at them (even bullies) If your kid is like that, they need to learn to stand up for themselves. If your words can't help, get counseling. To be honest, that is all I can think of for handeling bullies. Hope it helps.  |
