Hello Lorace,

No I never did listen to that Gospel Hymn. I'll have to keep and eye and ear open for it.

Thanks for stopping by, it is always appreciated.

Best,

Phil

It is said that the Portland Head Light is the most photographed lighthouse in America.

That's great. Have you ever read White Noise by Don DeLillo (sp?)? There's a part in that book about "the most photographed barn in America."

Yes Barbara, lighthouses are fascinating.

Side story. My uncle died on Thanksgiving. He was living alone and we have to go through his personal effects to get things in order. When going through his desk last night I found a 2005 calendar. The front cover and one of the months had a picture of this lighthouse I just reviewed! Very Cool. Barbara it also had a picture of another lighthouse that is in Oregon. I'll have to check a bit later to find the name of it. I wonder if it is yours.

Thanks for r/r/and commenting.

Best,

Phil

Along with Barbara, I've always been fascinated with lighthouses.

I loved this review, Phil, and thank you for Longfellow's wonderful poem. I just printed it out and it will bring me much pleasure.

Have you ever heard the gospel hymn called "The Lighthouse?" It was one of Elvis's favorites and gives me chills every time I hear it.

Thanks for the good read on a rainy Monday morning.

by lighthouses and always go to see them up close and personal when I'm in the vicinity of one.

I'm looking at a picture on wall just to the right of my desk that is a shrouded in fog shot that I took one day of a lighthouse in Oregon..It's one of my favorite pictures though you can hardly make out the lighthouse itself..:)

Great review Phil..I have to check to see if any of the lighthouses I visited over the years are categories..

:)

That happened to be the same views I had of Kennebunkport, Maine when I was there. I could have been anywhere at the time as I could only see up to twenty feet in front of me.

Thanks for r/r/and commenting. I hope this review gives you a reason to try and return to this lighthouse.

I drove way out of my way to see this landmark on a trip to New England, only to find it so shrouded in fog, that I could barely make it out. I guess that's one drawback for the area, during certain seasons. At least I can say I've been there, but not that I really saw it, at least not very clearly. Fine review. Sheila
