Advice from a 179

You can do this at your kitchen table, but you must take every test in sight and practice until you can tell why those tests are flawed.

I never thought about questioning the commercial guides. I actually have about 4 different test companies books and I'm studying for the June or October 04 LSAT right now.

I'll take a look at the commercial guides with a closer eye.

Good advice.

Hey, 46 under the old scoring system is impressive! Guess it doesn't matter much once you're in law school, though. I have yet to have a judge (or anybody else) ask me how I did on my LSAT!

Good luck in October. The more you do, the better you'll get. Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what I can do. I do tend to repeat for emphasis, perhaps too much.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope I'm getting the hang of this after a somewhat rocky start.

I only got a 46, which is way less than 179. :)

Of course, I took the LSAT in the Good Old Days, with the OLD 48-point scoring system, and now I can't impress people with how high my score was. Drat. (I guess I could go around telling people that I got a 178, but that doesn't sound as cool.)

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way what lack of proper preparation can do. I did great(I believe) on all sections of the test except for the final games section(was not experimental). This opinion is correct in that the questions on the actual LSAT have answers that are more clearly right and wrong than any of the books that I've used. These books are good however in their explanation of the material.

I will be taking my test again in October and have cancelled my June score. My plan is to study hard on the games section and to take one practice test per week until the next test date. I would not recommend using anything other than previously administered LSAT tests to evaluate your ability.

I'm a GRE-er myself, but i can tell great studying advice when I see it! A bit of constructive criticism, though--it seemed a little bit repetitive at a couple of points; if you have the time to edit, it might benefit from some tightening up.

just my two cents...
