| berlinbax's Full Review: Kempinski Taschenbergpalais |
I have already stayed twice in the Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais. Located directly in the historic center of Dresden, it has been a castle, which the old Saxonian King August the Strong gave his love Princess of Cosel as a present. During the second world war it was completely destroyed, but a few years ago it has been historically rebuild with a great passion.
Now it is a five star luxury hotel with an impressing athmosphere and an astonishing service.
The rooms offer all the service you need (sat tv, minibar, airconditions, fax and internet and spacious bathrooms with as many towels you want. The things I like most are to take a morning swim in the wellness area on the fifth floor and then visit the sumptous breakfast buffet, to enjoy all the things I normally only dream of at home. The staff is wonderful, they really read your lips. When they found out about my mums birthday on our last stay, they really surprised her with a wonderful birthday treatment. If you really think about staying in Dresden you should visit the Taschenbergpalais, it has the perfect location only a few steps away from sites like the world known semper opera, the Frauenkirche, the art gallery with the unique Sixtinian Madonna, the castle Zwinger and the river Elbe, where they have the mississippi steamboats! Visit the past-go east!
