Pros: All the big claims.
Cons: It was really just problem after problem.
The Bottom Line: Only buy this for INFREQUENT use and check the bin yourself. This does not live up to its claims.

| cromike's Full Review: Royal 15MX Shredder |
We got this to use at our small business. We have a lot of old files with a lot of information that requires shredding to throw away. So we the Royal 15MX Shredder. It was the most expensive shredder for sale where we bought it but it claimed to be the best also. It never really lived up to any of its claims to shred 15 sheets or to be unjammable. It would often stop shredding due to "overload" with fewer than ten sheets. The basket full function would often stop the shredder when it was nearly empty (apparently the sensor got paper stuck in it). When it did work it would only work for about an hour or so without overheating and then it would take another half an hour to cool off again so that it could be used. After the first time that it overheated it would only take maybe twenty minutes to overheat again. All in all this was the most annoying problem and the one that made it the most unusable. All of these problems aside--it did work okay for about a week. When the bin is full (or when the sensor thinks that the bin is full) it reverses the machine automatically so that whatever is getting shredded comes back up a little and you can take it out and empty the bin. This seems to be a convenience but it is precisely this function that caused our machine to break. It reversed when the papers it was shredding were almost completely through the machine and they did not come back out the slot that they go into to get shredded, instead they backed up a little but got stuck inside the machine between the slot where the papers go in and the blade area. This resulted in the papers getting crumpled and the machine not being able to push them out properly. Then there was a big clack sound and the Royal 15MX shredder has not worked since. Trying to find a phone number for the manufacturer has been another royal pain in the butt. Luckily I still had the original sales receipt from the retailer that I bought it from. Needless to say, I did not get another one.
