The Bottom Line: Keep a bottle handy for the Kitchen & bath room but keep it out of the tub and off the floors.

| caithnessfan's Full Review: Orange Clean Tough Acting Degreaser Multi-Purpose ... |
While trying to get the house in order for my folks to visit this summer, I did my annual 1 man tornado cleaning.
Among the cleaners that I happened to grab was Orange Clean multipurpose cleaner.
It grabbed my attention with the claim of TOUGH ACTING DEGREASER on the front label.
Being a confirmed bachelor, my kitchen looks like a buffet exploded when I finish cooking so I certainly was able to provide a challenge for that claim.
Good Uses
The bottle lists ideal uses on appliances, counter tops, bathrooms, range tops, cabinets, walls, doors, ceramic tile, sinks, patio furniture, "and much more".
Notes from my use
I started off on the stove top and front, grease and burnt on stuff. Since it was a heavy duty mess I was liberal with the application and let it sit for a few minutes while I used it on the counter tops.
Most of the stains on the old counter surface came off without too much scrubbing other than a die hard cool aid stain that took a brillo pad to get rid of.
I went back to the stove and tried the paper towels first. the grease came off with ease but some of the cooked on stuff (pasta sauce, cheese, and fruit from a couple of experiments gone awry) took a second dose and steel wool to get off completely.
After the second round and a light hit with steel wool the stove was as clean as the day I moved in.
Orange Clean worked well on the sinks, cabinets, fridge, and walls too.
The bathroom was a bit of a challenge as I have fairly hard water and it didn't work well on mineral build up but was great for the soap scum in the shower.
By the time that I was done, the whole house smelled fresh and clean and distinctively orange.
bad features and warnings
Since orange OIL is used in this product, it tends to leave a slick residue. The bottle says rinse if necessary, I found in most cases that it WAS indeed necessary.
Use EXTREME caution if you use this product to clean your tub or toilet seat. It WILL be slick and can lead to a dangerous situation.
Likewise the company and I both suggest that you do not use it on floors for the same reason stated above.
Further disclaimers from the bottle
Not recommended for soft, shiny, plastic coated surfaces such as microwave number pads, soft vinyl, varnished acrylic plastic, or aluminum surfaces.
Ingredient
Neither the bottle nor the web page on the bottle lists any other ingredients besides Orange oil.
I paid $3.95 for a 22 ounce (651 ml) bottle and used about half of the bottle using it liberally in kitchen, bathroom, and a couple of walls in the dining room.
