I got my Dell 8100 about a week ago. I had no hardware problems at all. The system was packaged well and has functioned flawlessly since I set it up.

I had one minor software related problem, worth mentioning since I called Dell support for help with this. The Windows ME registration locked the computer up. I thought I should just reboot and go from there. However, since the system was new, I decided to call Dell support before I do something I shouldn't. Dell support was friendly and very helpful. Aside from advising me to do what I was going to do anyway, the support specialist also guided me through running a diagnostic on my modem to insure that was functioning properly.

I upgraded from a Pentium, so the speed increase of a 1.4GHz Pentium IV is undeniable. And I thought a 40GB hard drive would be unbearably slow, but it's not at all.

Needless to say, I'm very happy with my system. Thanks Dell!
