thanks for the tip - one thing, I know I like EATING those wonderful cookies - and I have read where some of those businesses started in someone's kitchen - I appreciate the time you took to read, and leave a comment - and hope to see you again on one of my pages some day -

Good Luck in Your Search (Reply to this comment)

Your editorial will help many avoid the scams you found. You may have to come up with your own idea for work at home. Perhaps you could bake those huge cookies and decorate them for special occasions. They sell for $6.00 a cookie and are longer lasting (maybe) than flowers.

what great points - and you are so right - that for the "creators" of those schemes, they probably do "get rich quick" - -
as to "marketing myself" - I already do teach a quilting class, but it is more a hobby than anything - living in the midwest, there is not such a great demand for some things -
and I was a teacher for years, so tutoring would fall into the "professional" category - I am on the "list" with the schools, but only get calls about 2 or 3 times a month - and of course, during the summers, hardly anyone is "learning" *wink*
your comments are great, and very appreciated - and I thank you - hopefully they will help others also (say, why don't you write an epinion too?) *smile*

how about "creating" some work right at home, like tutoring, or make-up-whatever-you-want that you enjoy and are good at? if you have a particular skill or talent, like cooking, music, writing, craft-making, gardening, home-decorating, fashion (like me, i'd love to pay someone with exquisite taste to select my wardrobe since i don't have the innate talent nor the time), you-name-it.. people will pay lots of money to learn from you. my kid sister is being paid $25/hr to tutor younger schoolmates. professional tutors can charge anywhere up to $100/hr!
all you have to do is market yourself!
all these get rich quick schemes make the sly people who started them get rich quick. people that they convince to join (like you) are the ones who they get rich from.... so it is in some sense a get rich quick scheme.

Try calling some different companies like plastic companies. I work out of my home putting plastic on strips. My only problem is that everybody keeps calling me cause they found out and we already have a full team. But there are companies that are out there that will pay people to work out of their home, just like me.
