Pros:Nice Design, Card reader, quick and easy to setup. Extra USB Ports
Cons:Check configuration, NO CD Burning software, runs a bit hot, add an extra fan.
The Bottom Line: A good system for the average home that doesn't need gaming power.

I bought this machine just before Christmas from Tigerdirect.ca which is the Canadian version of Tigerdirect. After shipping, taxes and rebates, I paid C$420.00 which is a good deal for this machine.

The machine comes with the specs above. I haven't burnt a CD yet but I am assured that it will work well. The system that I got from Tigerdirect came listed with 512 Megs of RAM but only came with 128 Megs. I phoned Tiger Direct today and they are working on straightening things out quickly. So hopefully in a couple of weeks I should have a stick of RAM. Even just running 128 Megs of RAM it is a quick machine but as soon as you throw any games or anything like that it bogs down, but that should be fixed with the RAM.

The card reader installed in it is just below the Combo drive and fits nicely in with the system. It has access lights for all ports and the drivers all came installed. The system also came with Microsoft Works, which is a nice touch.

The hard drive installed in this system is a Western Digital 80 Gig and runs quickly but a bit noisily. But most people should be able to get used to that. I added an extra fan in the back to blow out some of the heat since I found it a bit hot in the case for my liking.

There is one USB port and sound ports in the front as well behind a panel, and 4 USBs in back. The Video is build on is a Savage8 and works quite well on shared RAM. Sound also is quite well.

Overall, I am impressed by the design of the system and look forward to adding the extra RAM to see how this system really performs. All in all I am impressed.

12/22/04 - Tigerdirect.ca sent me the 512Megs of RAM for my systems to bring it up to spec. Great service from them.
