As a women with PCOD - (Reply to this comment)
by KMINER, in Kids & Family
I found this extremely interesting -
I never considered herbal treatments and used the treatments prescribed by my fertility specialist -
I would certainly think bringing these things you mention to his attention would have been interesting -
Again, certain herbs can work in a bad combination with certain medications, so I'd certainly stress having advice and speaking to a dr - they recommended an herbal treatment to my father with liver problems and it interacted with a medication he was on and gave him too high levels of something and had bad effects -
I conceived and had my son, now 13 months, and now am just on orthotricylin - I'd be very interested in how a can better help my body now that I am not trying to get pregnant and still having to deal with the disease -
for ex, I had horrible (I felt ) facial hair darkening problems while pregnant and lot of it has lightened since - I still get horrid cramps and moody, and etc ,.,,
I also have heard about the carbo diets and tried to do the Adkins while conceiveing but had no will power :o)
I tested borderline for gestational diabities and am wondering if PCOD issues were a factor -

I couldn't rate this.... (Reply to this comment)

Sorry. You write very well, however I couldn't bring myself to rate this.
The herbal industry has no regulation by the FDA and herbal products make all sorts of claims (from curing ADHD to helping with infertility). Most if not all of these claims are not backed up my medical studies.
Since I have no idea if these would work, I couldn't rate.
Thanks for writing.
