I have to agree with nine of your ten picks - "Some Kind of Wonderful" just never did anything for me :]
Great picks!

Hey! It's a list of only ten! Okay, okay, I know. Omitting Ferris Bueller from my list was a MAJOR, HUGE, STUPID mistake. I bow below those who have pointed this omission out to me. I am humbly sorry :)

Great list! These teen movies you describe were groundbreaking and done with intelligence.
How about the movie with John Cusak called, "The Sure Thing" He was so wonderful in that movie. It was a teen love story that I just watched over and over again!

Great Job (Reply to this comment)

Wow!You did an awesome job on picking these movies. I wrote a scathing review of some dope yesterday who wrote that "Independence Day was one of the best movies ever." I thought all hell had broke loose and then you go and write a wonderful review of 80's teen flicks. Congrats and mission accomplished. However, being the epinion master that I am, I would feel incomplete without adding a few of some worthy contenders.
1)Ferris Bueller's Day Off: This is a classic high school film that I would have selected over "The Outsiders" even though it didn't have the same star quality. I have yet to meet someone who didn't like this movie.
2)Less Than Zero: Jamie Gertz, Robert Downey Jr., Andrew McCarthy(sp?). This is an incredible movie and an 80's classic although it is pretty graphic. No one ever predicted that it would turn out to be Robert's real life.
3)Stand By Me: "Chopper Sic Balls". This movie about kids going to look for a dead body was another movie that I loved. Again not much star power and the actors were pretty young but definitely and 80's Teen Classic.
Again, A++ on this epinion.
